Dimensions: Length: 8 inches Note: Slight variations in designs are to be expected from handmade products. The base and bulb are not included. Care information: Wipe using dry clean cloth. Then, wipe using cloth dipped in coconut oil to maintain sheen. Recycling idea: After their lifetime, the leather can be removed from the frame and cut into tubes. A string of fairy lights can be inserted into the tube for a funky night light!

Light and shadow. Using this basic idea, this ancient art form of Andhra Pradesh has beautifully adapted to contemporary lifestyles. The artisans of Andhra Tholu Bommalatta, literally [leather] skin puppetry, have reinvented themselves to create products such as lampshades, to continue their traditional craft, while exploring sustainable markets. Among the newer products, the handmade perforated lampshade is a perfect product for the translucent leather, and harkens back to its original use: a play between light and shade.
